Find out what diving is and join us for a Discover Scuba Dive on Bonaire

Are you curious about diving, but not quite ready to take a full course? Or do you want to figure out yourself if scuba diving is as awesome as other divers tell you? A Discover Scuba Diving experience may be your start of a lifetime of underwater adventures. You can try diving for half a day during and will find out if diving is something you really want to learn. Joining this dive makes it easier for you to decide if you want to proceed your diving journey. So for now, let’s talk about this PADI program!

Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) program

Discover Scuba Diving is a try-diving experience. This program allows you to explore the underwater world under guidance of our instructors. You will learn how to use dive equipment, hand signals and perform basic scuba skills.

eLearning

You can start this experience at home on your own device. Sign up for the eLearning and learn more about the key concepts of diving, safety procedures and how to interact best with aquatic life. It will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete the eLearning.

in-water training

After finishing the eLearning we will schedule a morning or afternoon together and you will be in the water soon. What to expect after completing the eLearning? We will meet at the dive shop, fit the scuba gear and take a moment to explain all the pieces of equipment you will be using during the dive. There is plenty of time to answer your dive related questions before you will be taking your first breaths underwater.

We go briefly over the dive skills which you will practice with us in shallow waters. This is the moment Your World is About to Get Bigger! Because after completing the skills, we start diving together and we take you out on a tour along the reefs. Are you ready to dive in?

During the Discover Scuba Dive, we pay very detailed attention to you and we will have enough time to get you comfortable by being underwater and let you experience the reefs of Bonaire at a slow pace. Our diving time will be somewhere around 45 minutes, depending on the air we will use and how excited you are by being underwater.

What’s next?

After the dive, it is possible that you are over the moon about diving. We can imagine! Remember that the Discover Scuba Diving is not a scuba certification course. It allows you to dive only under the supervision of a PADI Professional. After finishing the DSD, there are 2 options:

  1. You are dedicated and really want to learn diving. After the DSD, you can sign up for the Open Water Diver course to get certified. By participating in the DSD program, you now have a head start and will more fluently continue your Open Water Diver course.

  2. Within 2 weeks after completing the DSD, you can join us for additional guided dives and take you for a tour along the reefs of Bonaire.

Can anyone join a Discover Scuba Dive?

The Discover Scuba Diving is for almost everyone! You have to meet the age requirement of 10 and you need to be fit to dive. Please download the Dive Medical Questionnaire on forehand to see if you are good to go.

What about costs?

The total cost of the Discover Scuba Diving program is 129 usd per person. Our price is inclusive and we will provide to you all dive equipment you need. You only need to bring your swimsuit and a good vibe. Our groups are with a maximum of 4 divers, so personal attention is guaranteed.
